In summer there is plenty to discover in the area around Rodeneck, whether it’s extensive hikes in the countryside or in the mountains, a tour on a mountain bike or a leisurely day in one of the swimming pools in the area – there is something for everyone.
For adrenaline junkies too, of course. Whether it’s paragliding in Rodeneck or the bike park on the Plose in Brixen, there’s something for everyone here.
A car is also superfluous, with the Almencard, which every guest receives free of charge, it is very easy for summer vacationers of all ages to reach their excursion destinations.
With the Almencard you can travel free of charge on all public transport in South Tyrol. Visit over 90 museums free of charge and enjoy free travel on the Gitschberg/Jochtal cable cars during selected periods.

The Rodenecker-Lüsner Alm lies at around 1,800 to 2,300 m above sea level. It is one of the largest high plateaus in Europe. The pleasant hike offers a magnificent view of the wide Brixen basin, the Eisack Valley and the Dolomites.
The starting point is the Zumis parking lot, which is easy to reach from Rodeneck.
Family-friendly hiking trails suitable for baby carriages and numerous refreshments stops await you, such as the
– Oberhauserhütte: about 10 minutes from the Zumis parking lot
– Roner Alm: around 40 minutes from the Zumis parking lot
– Rastnerhütte: around 1.5 hours from the Zumis parking lot
– Starkenfeldhütte: around 1.5 hours from the Zumis parking lot
– Kreuzwiesenalm: around 2.5 hours from the Zumis parking lot
A popular hiking route is the tour to the Astjoch at 2194m. The 13km route is easy to master and promises wonderful views. The sunny location makes it an ideal hike until late fall. The Astjoch can also be reached by mountainbike.
Take the Jochtal cable car up to the mountain station to reach the playground with petting zoo, water park, climbing stag and balance course.
The destination of the adventure park is the Steinermandl panorama platform. A glockenspiel, a climbing bear and hammocks await you on the way there.
Refreshment stops include the Nockalm, the Ochsenalm and the Jochtalhütte.
The Sonnenpark is a highlight for families. It is located directly at the exit of the Nesselbahn.
A sun bridge, a giant slide, binoculars and a human sundial provide adventures for young and old. The Gitschhütte with its giant trampoline and playground offers refreshments.
It is open in the summer months from mid-June to the beginning of September.
It can be reached by car from Rodeneck in about 10 minutes.

The outdoor and indoor pool in Maranza offers three different water depths, making it a real family pool.
The adjoining Alpine Bistro will satisfy your hunger in between.
The Acquarena is in Bressanone/Brixen, around 20 minutes from Rodengo/Rodeneck.
It is open 365 days a year and offers a fun pool, children’s pool, sports pool, saltwater pool, whirlpool, sauna and infrared cabin. There is also a fitness studio in the Aquarena.
